A CBC-aligned AI maths tutor for Grade 7–9 that answers only from 299 authored lessons. Learners type, hold-to-speak or photograph a textbook page; prose is read aloud and maths is taught from the lesson corpus. One codebase ships three ways: a web app, a WhatsApp bot and an offline Raspberry Pi box that broadcasts its own hotspot for schools with no internet.
The problem
General chatbots answer anything, in any style, and hallucinate; schools without internet get nothing.
What we built
Retrieval over an authored corpus with a designed refusal: 'I haven't been taught that yet.' Prepaid wallet over Paystack M-Pesa, no accounts, a two-step delete-everything.

Honest AI as a product decision: the tutor is constrained to the curriculum, its OCR limits were measured and designed around, and the privacy policy was written from the code.
